The following tips will help you correctly set up and understand the Safe Roads Challenge app:
iOS Users
- Go to your device's settings and scroll down to Apps.
- Locate the Safe Roads Challenge app to allow the following access: Location must be set to Always and the Precise Location toggle set to On.
- The next step is to ensure that your Motion & Fitness is set to On.
- In addition, go to your Settings, scroll to Battery and then check your Power Mode to verify that low power mode is turned off so it doesn't interfere with Trips recording in full.
Android Users
- Go to your device's settings and scroll down to Apps.
- From there, find and select the Safe Roads Challenge app, click Permissions and then change the location setting to Always Allow and set your Physical Activity to On.
- For Trips to record properly, battery optimization has to be turned Off for Safe Roads Challenge.
- Return to the Apps section of settings, click on Usage and choose Battery Usage, click on the dropdown beside Apps not Optimized and choose All.
- Scroll down to Safe Roads Challenge and turn the toggle to Off.
Additional Tips & Tricks
- If you are new to Safe Roads Challenge, it can take up to 125mi/201km before the app fully calibrates your driving to ensure the most accurate scoring. To speed this up, try taking a longer trip!
- Allow some time for the app to evaluate your score as Trips are generally scored when you have access to wifi to limit battery and data usage.
- If your trip doesn't display right away, pull down the screen to refresh your Score page.
- Ensure that you have assigned your Trip to either Driver or Passenger on the Trips page.
